Winter Roadside Prep Checklist for Chester County, PA Drivers

1. Battery

• Have it load-tested if it's 3+ years old (free at most parts stores).
• Clean any corrosion off the terminals.
• If it cranks slow on a 40°F morning, replace it before a 20°F morning kills it.

2. Tires

5. Know What Roadside Can (and Can't) Do

6. Drive Like It's Winter

• Double following distance on cold pavement.
• Brake before turns, not during.
• If you start to slide, ease off the gas — don't slam the brakes.

7. If You Do Break Down
